Jumping Pound JFW Camp
JFW Jumping Pound Camp
Jumping Pound Camp sits on 10.3 acres of crown land in the Sibbald Creek Trail area (Hwy 68) west of Calgary, and is available exclusively for all JFW clubs, individual JFW families and the Alumni Association.
The original site was first used as a provincial gaol work camp, later taken over by the Alberta Forest Service (ESRD) as a training base for fire crews. The site was known then as the Man-up Camp and this informal designation seems to have stuck!
The AJFWA has developed Booking Procedures, Operational Guidelines and Usage Forms for the site in accordance with Association requirements. The camp is administered by CJFWS (Calgary Junior Forest Warden Society) and booking requests may be made through Brian McBride, Chair, CJFWS Camp Committee or Leona Boisselle, Alumni Association Executive.
The new visual guide for the camp has site maps, photos and descriptions of the buildings and a bit of history. Have a look and print off a copy for yourself or your club database.
Check in from time to time for camp news.
